Understanding Cerebral Palsy
The term “Cerebral Palsy” is commonly applied to various early childhood movement disorders. Despite gloomy prognoses from numerous medical sources for children facing these conditions, we offer them with a pathway to well-being. This involves the creation of a tailored program to stimulate brain growth and development.
The literature of the Brain Fitness Centers doesn’t use outdated labels like “cerebral palsy,” opting instead for the term “brain-injured.” This encompasses a broad spectrum of brain injuries, spanning from profound conditions such as coma, paralysis, blindness, and deafness to milder learning difficulties and every form and level of brain injury in between.

The commonly used term to characterize children facing mobility challenges is “cerebral palsy.” However, “cerebral palsy” is a diagnosis based on symptoms. Children labeled with cerebral palsy typically experience primary injuries in the subcortical regions of the brain.
The subcortical areas constitute the middle section of the brain, also known as the functional midbrain. This segment encompasses structures like the basal ganglia, thalamus, cerebellum, and the region conventionally referred to as the “midbrain,” anatomically situated as the upper part of the brain stem above the pons.
